Psalm 43 – How to Not Be Anxious

I haven’t looked at the book of Psalms in a while.

So on Sunday, I decided to do some quiet reading and take some notes.

I found it to be a peaceful way to calm my anxious spirit.

Psalm 43 jumped out at me and captured my attention.

Here’s the full version:

Vindicate me, my God,
    and plead my cause
    against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me from those who are
    deceitful and wicked.
You are God my stronghold.
    Why have you rejected me?
Why must I go about mourning,
    oppressed by the enemy?
Send me your light and your faithful care,
    let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the lyre,
    O God, my God.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

Psalm 43:3

I am not sure why the current NIV translation changed “your truth” to “your faithful care”.

I thought a long while about what God’s truth means.

It’s unchanging.

It’s full of assurance.

It’s loving.

And it doesn’t harm or hurt anyone.

How about you? How is God’s truth like for you?

I pray that His light and truth lift your spirit and guide you today.

Hugs,

Angela
